What are the International Achievement Awards (IAA) ?
The International Achievement Awards (IAA) is an annual competition with a goal to promote awareness of the specialty fabrics used in thousands of products and applications ranging in size and shape. For more than 60 years, the awards have recognized innovation, technical skill and design excellence. Entries are judged by industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were selected for their knowledge in particular field of study or product area.
WINNING PROJECTS
Winners in 30 product categories are selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. “Award of Excellence” and “Outstanding Achievement Award” recipients are announced at IFAI Specialty Fabrics Expo and the Advanced Textiles Conference & Trade Show.
Auvents OmbraSole Awnings wins 2015 Canada Honours Award
(St. Paul, Minn. – March 18, 2015) – Auvents OmbraSole Awnings of Montreal, Quebec was recognized with the 2015 Canada Honours Program award for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications. The event took place March 13, 2015 at the IFAI Canada Expo in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Auvents OmbraSole Awnings received an Outstanding Achievement Award for its Oasis Sun Protection project. The project was recognized in the competition’s Miscellaneous category.
Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges were industry experts chosen for their knowledge in a particular field of study or product area.
All entries receive prominent recognition at the IFAI Canada Expo. Entrants receive additional publicity through coverage in IFAI magazines and press releases distributed to media professionals.
The IFAI Canada Honours Program is an annual competition that recognizes the latest advancements in specialty fabric design and manufacturing in the Canadian specialty
fabrics industry.

Auvents OmbraSole wins IFAI 2012 International Achievement Award
(Roseville, Minn. – Nov. 7, 2012) – Auvents OmbraSole, Montreal, Quebec was recognized with the 2012 International Achievement Award (IAA) for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications, that took place Nov. 7 at the IFAI Expo Americas 2012, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Mass.
Auvents OmbraSole received an International Achievement Award for its Attico Awning project. The project was recognized in the competition’s Retractable Awnings & Canopies category.
IFAI received a total of 335 entries from 14 countries that were submitted for 30 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were chosen for their knowledge in a particular field of study or product area.

Ombrasole Awnings First prize winner in the US
(Roseville, MN – Oct. 26, 2011) Auvents OmbraSole , Montreal, Quebec, was recognized with the 2011 International Achievement Award (IAA) for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications. The ceremony took place at the IFAI Expo Americas 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md. on October 25.
Auvents OmbraSole received an «Outstanding Achievement Award» for its «Attico Awning» project. The project was recognized in the competition’s «Retractable Awnings and Canopies» category.
